Shri.B.SURENDER MOHAN, Chairman-Cum-Managing Director:
Shri.B.Surender Mohan aged 57 years is a Mining Engineer and a Holder of First Class Managers Certificate of Competency in Mining. Shri.B.Surender Mohan has vast experience mining industry and has held various positions in other PSUs before joining NLC in the year 1998. Shri.B.Surender Mohan assumed charge as Director(Mines) w.e.f.01.05.2008 and as CMD w.e.f. 01.07.2012.

Dr. A. K. DUBEY, DIRECTOR:
Dr.A.K.Dubey, aged 54 years, a Member of Indian Administrative Service, is a Post Graduate in Public Administration, Post Graduate in Economics Rural Development and holding degree in Law and Doctorate in Social Sciences. Dr.A.K.Dubey has held various positions in Government of Kerala and Government of India and is presently serving as the Additional Secretary to Government of India, Ministry of Coal. Dr. A. K. Dubey is on the Board of the Company w.e.f. 03.04.2013.

Shri. N. S. PALANIAPPAN, DIRECTOR:
Shri.N.S.Palaniappan, aged 56 years, is a Post Graduate in Economics. Shri.N.S.Palaniappan, a member of Indian Administrative Service, has held various important positions in Government of Tamilnadu. Shri.N.S.Palaniappan is presently serving as the Principal Secretary to Government of Tamilnadu, Industries Department.

Shri.R.KANDASAMY, DIRECTOR (Planning & Projects):
Shri.R.Kandasamy aged 59 years is a Graduate in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, AMIE (Mining), holder of First Class Mines Manager Certificate in Coal and Metal and also a holder of Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration. A Fellow Member of the Indian Institute of Engineers(India), Shri.R.Kandasamy joined the Company in the year 1977 and has vast experience in Mines, Mine Planning and Geology. Shri.R.Kandasamy assumed charge as Director(Planning & Projects) w.e.f.17.09.2009.

Shri. SARAT KUMAR ACHARYA, DIRECTOR (Human Resource):
Shri.Sarat Kumar Acharya aged 54 years holds an Honours Degree in Economics and a Post Graduation in Personnel Management. An expert in strategic HR with equal proficiency in operations, Shri.Sarat Kumar Acharya carries with him over three decades of rich experience. Shri.Sarat Kumar Acharya assumed charge as Director(Human Resource) w.e.f.16.12.2010 and prior to joining NLC he held the position of Head (Corporate HR) in NTPC-SAIL Power Company Limited, a Joint Venture of NTPC and SAIL.

Shri. RAKESH KUMAR, DIRECTOR (Finance):
Shri.Rakesh Kumar aged 49 years, is a Post Graduate in Business Administration (Finance). Shri.Rakesh Kumar has vast experience in handling various matters in finance & accounts area such as project costing, budgeting, cash forecast, tax planning and also in arranging finance for new and expansion projects and further has rich experience especially in development of cost monitoring systems and implementing computerized accounting systems. Shri.Rakesh Kumar assumed charge as Director(finance) w.e.f.23.05.2012 and prior to joining NLC, Shri. Rakesh Kumar held the position of Director (Finance) in Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited, a Subsidiary Company of GAIL Limited.

Shri. S. RAJAGOPAL, DIRECTOR (Power):
Shri.S.Rajagopal is a Graduate in Mechanical Engineering with First Class Rank. Shri.S.Rajagopal joined the company in the year 1977 and has held various important positions in the Company in the areas of SME, Erection/Mines. Shri.S.Rajagopal assumed charge as Director(Power) w.e.f.01.03.2013 and prior to becoming Director(Power), he was the Chief Executive Officer of NLC Tamilnadu Power Limited, a subsidiary company of NLC. Shri.S.Rajagopal has a wide range of experience in mining and in the project implementation.

Shri. M. S. RAVINDRANATH, DIRECTOR (Mines):
Shri. M. S. Ravindranath is a Graduate in Engineering and a Fellow Member of The Institution of Engineers besides holding Diploma in Production Management. Shri M. S. Ravindranath joined the Company in the year 1977 and has held various senior positions in the Company and prior to becoming Director (Mines) he was holding the position of Executive Director/Mines. Shri. M. S. Ravindranath has a wide range of experience in mining and power generation and also in project implementation. Shri. M.S.Ravindranath assumed charge as Director(Mines) w.e.f. 23.04.2013.

Dr. SANJAY GOVIND DHANDE, DIRECTOR:
Dr.Sanjay Govind Dhande aged 64 years is a Mechanical Engineer and has done Ph.d from IIT, Kanpur. Dr.Sanjay Govind Dhande is presently holding the position of Director, IIT, Kanpur and is also a Member of the Scientific Advisory Council to the Prime Minister of India. Dr.Sanjay Govind Dhande is a Member of the Governing Body of the Indo-US Science and Technology Forum, Indo-French Cooperation Programme, Indo-Japan Coordination programmes etc. Dr.Sanjay Govind Dhande is on the Board of the Company w.e.f.26.06.2010.

Shri. S.K. ROONGTA, DIRECTOR:
Shri.S.K.Roongta aged 62 years is a Graduate in Electrical Engineering and holds Post Graduate Diploma in International Trade. Shri.S.K.Roongta began his career in Steel Authority of India Limited(SAIL) in the year 1972 and had held senior positions including Board level in SAIL and retired as Executive Chairman of SAIL. Shri.S.K.Roongta had held various positions in the Industry/ Professional bodies and has won several awards including SCOPE Gold Award Excellence and Outstanding Contribution to the Public Sector Management Individual Category for the year 2007-08 and is considered as an expert on Indian infrastructure and metal industry. Shri.S.K.Roongta is on the Board of the Company w.e.f.30.09.2010.

Shri. L.N. VIJAYARAGHAVAN, DIRECTOR:
Shri.L.N.Vijayaraghavan aged 65 years is a Post Graduate in Commerce and was a former member of Indian Administrative Service. Shri.L.N.Vijayaraghavan held important positions in Government of Tamilnadu and also in State Government Undertakings and retired as Principal Commissioner & Commissioner of Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection, Government of Tamilnadu. Shri.L.N.Vijayaraghavan is on the Board of the Company w.e.f.30.09.2010.

Shri. A.P.V.N. SARMA, DIRECTOR:
Shri.A.P.V.N.Sarma aged 63 years, is a Graduate in Engineering also holding a degree in Law. Shri Sarma was a former Member of Indian Administrative Service and has held important positions in Government of India and State of Andhra Pradesh, Public Sector Undertakings both in Central and State Governments and retired as Secretary to Government of India, Ministry of Shipping. Shri.A.P.V.N.Sarma is on the Board of the Company w.e.f.30.09.2010.

Shri. M.B.N. RAO, DIRECTOR:
Shri.M.B.N.Rao aged 64 years is a graduate in agriculture holding a diploma of ACIB (London) FIIB, MSIM, DCS (CAMBRIDGE) IDCS (UK). Shri Rao joined Indian Bank as Probationary Officer in the year 1970 and held senior positions in the Bank. Shri.M.B.N.Rao held the position of Chairman & Managing Director of Indian Bank and later on became Chairman & Managing Director of Canara Bank before retiring in the year 2008. Shri.M.B.N.Rao has in-depth knowledge and experience in Banking & Finance, Economics and other related sectors including International Banking. Shri.M.B.N.Rao is on the Board of the Company w.e.f.30.09.2010.

Shri. M.M. SHARMA, DIRECTOR:
Shri.M.M.Sharma aged 63 years is a graduate in Mining Engineering and a holder of First Class Manager Certificate(Coal & Metal). Shri.M.M.Sharma began his career in Coal India Limited in the year 1971 and had held many senior positions. Shri.M.M.Sharma later joined as Deputy Director(Mines Safety), Government of India and retired as Director General of Mines Safety. Shri.M.M.Sharma is on the Board of the Company w.e.f.30.09.2010.

Shri. V. MURALI, DIRECTOR:
Shri.V.Murali aged 53 years is a graduate in Commerce and Fellow Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants and India and Associate of Institute of Cost Accountants of India. Shri.V.Murali is a Practicing Chartered Accountant. Shri.V.Murali has authored many books and published many articles related to the profession and is holding important positions in various social organisations and various Chamber of Commerce and Industry and other professional bodies. Shri.V.Murali is on the Board of the Company w.e.f.30.09.2010.

Shri. R.K. MISHRA, DIRECTOR:
Shri.R.K.Mishra aged 64 years is a Post Graduate in Commerce and has done Ph.D. Shri.R.K.Mishra an academician is presently holding the position of Director, Institute of Public Enterprise, Hyderabad. Shri.R.K.Mishra has specialised in Financial Management, Corporate Governance, Corporate Social Responsibility, Performance Management and Public Enterprise Management. Shri.R.K.Mishra has published many articles and has authored several books to the profession. Shri.R.K.Mishra is on the Board of the Company w.e.f. 24.03.2011.
